    Sorry, I dont want to be rude. But, this is not cheap. This is expensive, instead if you look at the 27gallon box, you have more than 12 plants and it will hold lot of water and no need to refill for long time

    Make sure roots are submerged in complete darkness as the sunlight delays root growth and it generates algae which blocks oxygen to the roots resulting in root rot and smelly water, also make sure the container has breathing holes for oxygen to the roots for root growth, use black containers, poke some holes for oxygen and clean water

    Sorry if you've answered this already I've watched both the mason jar tutorial and this faq. My query, so the roots naturally become air roots because of the gap we leave from the water. But do we still need to replace the water on a weekly basis to replenish nutrients once the roots start getting into the water? I'm not using any store bought liquid fertilizer, but trying soaking left over fruit peels and a little brown rice in water, soaking 1 sample for 2 weeks, then a second sample for 3 months to see any difference. Thank you.

    • @mefford509
      @mefford509 Год назад

      We need to maintain the water level at about 1/2 full to keep the nutrient roots wet and able to absorb water. “Mason jar” is a catchy title - but using a slightly larger container will help the plants stability and reduce the number of times that you need to add nutrient. Best wishes with your diy nutrient! Many viewers have shared their efforts in making their own solutions using all sorts of things- mainly manure. ( Wifey blocked all - manure in the house experimenting!) Thanks for watching! T

Most fridge freezer combos only have one compressor and they just move cold air into the fridge from the freezer. some newer units will have separate evaporators for fridge and freezer. its not much $ to give it a shot... at least the fridge part should be good.
